After graduating from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1987 with a major in illustration. I spent the next 10 years working as a computer graphic artist until realizing that this was no longer fulfilling for me. At that time, I realized that I was more of a fine artist that creates best through intuition. This began a time of new exploration for me in both my work as an artist as well as with my career path.
My early art was created in both acrylics and oils and were often large, almost wall-sized paintings. More recently, I discovered a new way to paint using a marker-watercolor technique. My art is much smaller now – only 14″x17″ and is focused on expressing the beauty and spirit of nature (animals, plants, trees…) I have always had a love of nature and animals and my portraits reflect the essence of an animal through my choice in colors and intuition.
Here are a few examples of my nature art and pet portraits. You can learn more about my art and view my galleries for both the pet portraits and nature art by clicking on the pages in the left sidebar.
